What are Pavers?

[con-crete]
"A paver is a paving-stone, -tile, -brick or brick-like piece of concrete commonly used as exterior flooring."

Paver Types:

  • Patios
  • Edging
  • Firepits
  • Walkways
  • Driveways

Pavers are a great addition to any outdoor area, such as a driveway or walkway. Traditionally pavers are used to create a durable surface that is slip resistant and provides excellent drainage. Pavers can be used to border existing concrete, or planters, giving new life to an often overlooked part of any landscape. Over the years companies such as Belgard and Pavestone have created new paver styles and colorways, giving the customer a multitude of choices. Pavers are a type of concrete and despite their small stature, provide an excellent surface that is durable just like concrete.

Paver Patios

Paver patios are a great way to cover up that unsightly dirt landscape and provide a durable, textured finish that will last for generations. Pavers are excellent for landscape due to the fact they provide their own built in drainage system, evacuating water and leaving a slip resistant surface to walk on. Pavers are an inexpensive building material that can be ordered in almost any shape and color combination imaginable. Increase the livable square footage of any area by installing a paver patio and enjoy years of maintenance free living.

Paver Edging

Edging walkways and planters with pavers is nothing new, it is a timeless look that will continue to be used for generations to come. Add some style to a boring planter or walkway simply by adding a paver border. Pavers are extremely durable and can withstand the harsh Las Vegas environment. The pavers in this picture were used to keep small dogs from being able to dig out from underneath the fence.

Paver Walkways

Walkways are often overlooked when designing any landscape, but when pavers are used, walkways are transformed into luxury footpaths worthy of bare feet. Pavers are a great building material that resit weathering from radiant heat and harmful UV rays. Adding spacing between pavers can allow grass or other decorative plants to grow, creating a living pathway similar to that of the English Countryside. Square pavers can also create curved walkways, a common misconception in client meetings. Paver walkways are great for curb appeal, and always add value to any property, great for maximizing return on investment.

Paver Driveways

Paver driveways are excellent for improving the curb appeal of any property, and typically increase the value of a property significantly. Paver driveways are excellent alternatives to traditional poured concrete because they provide more texture and slip resistance, along with excellent drainage. Paver driveways can be as simplistic or extravagant as the client wishes, with options such as decorative medallions and initials, the client can truly customize the look of any paver driveway. Pavers can be mixed to create unique patterns, custom color combinations or one of a kind designs, there is truly no limit to the customization options.

Paver Firepits

Pavers are an amazing building product, and can also be used for more creative uses, such as fire pits. Pavers make great fire pits because they absorb the heat and do not warp or crack under the extreme heat of a fire. Some companies have gone as far as producing kits specifically for fire pits. Fire pits can be a beautiful addition to any area exposed to the cool chill of the desert air.
